About Shop New Canaan
Our membership model, publishing approach, sources, and correction process.
Who we are
Shop New Canaan is published by the Shop New Canaan Association, an independent, member-supported organization helping people discover local businesses and helping eligible businesses connect with customers.
Membership and featured coverage
The directory includes basic non-member listings. Members can receive richer profiles, media, offers, and opportunities for featured coverage. A limited profile does not mean a business is closed or unsuitable. Membership and partner placements support this website; inclusion in a guide is not a ranking of every business in town. Placement and promotional coverage remain subject to review.
Who publishes our guides
Guides credited to Shop New Canaan Association are organizational publications. AI tools may assist with drafting and organizing guide content. The organizational byline identifies Shop New Canaan Association as the publisher. Linked sources, business-supplied information, and publication dates help readers assess the information; firsthand interviews and visits are identified when provided.
Sources and changing details
Business listings draw on information supplied to the site and linked business sources. Guides link to planning resources and sources where provided. An updated date records a content change, not a guarantee that every detail was reverified that day. Opening hours, admission, reservations, parking restrictions, and offer terms can change. Check the business or official organizer before relying on time-sensitive details.
Offers and corrections
Offers are displayed as current, upcoming, or ended using their recorded dates in New Canaan’s time zone. Ended offers are retained as labeled archives and are not available for redemption. If a date or detail is wrong, send the page URL, the correction, and an official supporting source through our corrections form or contact email.
